Reviews of Best Rio Hostel

The hostel supplied a reasonably reliable internet connection.
The room was very cramped - 9' by 7'. The room had neither window nor air conditioning. It was difficult to sleep as we had to keep the room door open, so being disturbed by all goings on outside the room. The hostel has no usable relaxing public space. The breakfast was poor. The shower was too small to change in. Some of the toilet doors didn't close fully. The hostel was unable to provide a map of Rio. The kitchen was unusable, having no useful utensils or furniture. There were no laundry facilities.

the best thing there was definitely the staff. since the first contact over the phone until last minute they were nice, efficient and friendly. location is good, near subway station siqueira campos. the beach is a little far, but it's a walking distance. room was cute, we took the private 4-bed one w/ shared bath. the room is tiny, not much room for luggage etc but it's very acceptable for a hostel. bathroom is right next to the room, no problems there. i'll definitely recommend this hostel to my friends.

only the quite good localization
little room without a window, clean the room = empty the garbage (did only once during 5 days stay), buffet breakfast = one cheese tost, apples one day/watermelon the other day, cake, corn flakes, coffee, milk and juice, no wi-fi in the room, only at the reception, A/C only between 10 pm and 10 am, cameras everywhere like in the prison.

nothing.
The "deluxe" room had no windows, we had a camera looking into the bedroom, there was a door conecting to somewhere else in the bathroom, also some electricity cables next to the shower... Terrible experience

The location of the hostel is good and safe
Unfortunately, the staff (except the administration) isn't motivated to work. They aren't helpful, aren't informed about the tours they are selling, they aren't flexible. The 3-bed-standard room looks like a closet. The hostal has no charme.

The only thing I liked in this hostel was the stuff. They were really friendly and helpful! They prepared a breakfast especially for us earlier then they usually do, they helped us with getting some cash we urgently needed in the middle of the night. Thanks a lot for that!
But, the hostel by itself was not worth the money we paid. We booked, so called, "luxurious" double room. It had 8 sq. meters, all together with a bathroom, and a tiny window looking into the stairs! If that is a luxury, then I'm an idiot! Ok, we had a small tv, ventilator, we got the towels, we had an air condition, too, but the remote controller stayed at the reception(?!). They said they have only one for all air conditioners?! So, whenever you want to turn it on or off, you had to go to the reception! I wouldn't recommend this place! For just a little bit more of money, on some promotion, I stayed in 3 and 4 stars hotels, with jacuzzi in the room!

The staff was really so helpful, nice, friendly, disponible, very nice people, especially a guy called Gabriel he was just great :-) The hostel was in a great zone close to the beach and many other places, post office banks etc The hostel was a big chance of meeting very nice people all over the world, the breakfast was small but good for a hostel I for sure advice it to all travellers

The young guy was very welcoming
Very hard to find the hostel. It isn't hostel but a very chip youth hostelling: dirty room, no windows, noisy all the night, you have to do your bed with mismatched sheets. Very expansive. Pass your way, take a real hostel or a real youth hostelling!

There really wasn't anything to like. The only reason we stayed there was because it was pretty much the only available place for the date of our stay. And now I know why. I would definitely not recommend this hostel.
The staff were rude, the rooms were very small and not as clean as they could have been. The so called included buffet breakfast was very poor. In all, the name of this hostel does not mean what it should. Rather than best rio hostel, it should just be called rio hostel.
